I have been wanting to practice deep diaphragmatic breathing and wanted some biofeedback in a manual style, so I picked up this elastic rib belt. Not for support for my body, but to give myself biomechanical feedback.

Overall, it's a very economical product, coming in at about half the price of competitive products, and you get what you pay for. The elastic is stretchy. However, the band that runs across the top, which is where the stitching is, is not elastic. So you have this weird stretching on the bottom, but not on the top.

The Velcro does seem to stay, however, even in the course of a week, I've started to see a decent amount of peeling. This seems like something that would be used for about a week and then discarded. I'm highly concerned that it's not going to be very washable, even with a single wear for the course of forty minutes; it's already started to discolor, given that it's picked up something from my skin.

The benefits are it's cheap, and it is highly adjustable. I especially appreciate the cutout on the front of the body to go under a bra line. Not something I often have to deal with, but it's nice to be there.

It didn't actually work that well for biofeedback, as the elastic is too tight, which was another con. It makes breathing slightly more difficult, given how stiff the elastic is. The elastic also seems to be low quality and is wearing out relatively quickly.

Overall, I'd give this a two star rating.
